High School courses that I have taught:

  • Graphic Design. In this 10th-grade, year-long course, students use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to complete a series of open-ended projects that address basic concepts of graphic design. I have posted my curriculum for this course.
  • 9th and 10th Grade Software Engineering. This course is part of New York City's Software Engineering Pilot program. Curriculum units include Scratch; Processing; HTML, CSS and Javascript; Arduino; Lilypad; TouchDevelop.
  • Computer Art. Students used Adobe Photoshop to create images by manipulating and combining found and original photographs.
  • 9th Grade Intro to Art. Drawing, painting, and collage.
  • 2D (Drawing and Painting). A course for students who had completed 9th-grade Intro to Art. Materials included pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, tempera.
  • Crafts. A one-semester course, including paper-making, hand-bound books, pop-up books, embroidery and applique, and weaving.
